It’s been a while since I posted… part of this is due to not really feeling like I have make much progress or done anything blogworthy. That’s not really true… but maybe I just got out of the routine of posting.
Today I went to Farragut and played a 9-hole warmup on Little Black Bear, warmed up on a few holes of AWOL, then played a long practice round on Cutthroat throwing two drives, the playing from one of them.
Little Black Bear
Hole 17 on Little Black Bear is a straight forward shot. For me, throw a baby hyzer to the right of the fairway.
At 110 feet, it’s also a short hole as are all of them on this course.
The disc on the ground was my first shot… it hit the pole and bounced off. I thought to myself… “just throw it and skip it in”, which I was able to do on my second shot for my fifth practice ace.
Cutthroat
This was my second shot, which turned out a lot better than expected. I believe this is my best drive on hole 11 and I was fairly close to making the putt, just hitting the band.
My first drive on hole 14 was definitely off target going way right of the basket. This is my longest drive by far on this hole, which is encouraging.
For reference, the disc landed behind that little tree behind the basket. The closest I have come in the past is about 30 feet short to the right of the basket.
Somebody has been busy at Farragut installing these nice looking “next tee” signs.
It was a great day practicing Cutthroat for the Farragut Open in a couple of weeks. It will be the first time I will compete on it in a tournament. I had a great round on it last week or so and for the most part, played well even though it was a practice round.
And I forgot to come back and comment after I read this when you posted it! It takes so much less time to undo a habit than to form one! It sure sounded like a great day of practice with the skip Ace being a great highlight!
