The snow has melted away for the majority of the course, but most importantly the tee pads are clear. I am continually trying out discs for the A.W.O.L. course and working on my “It’s a lateral movement” form. I played a warm-up round on Little Black Bear trying out my new K3 Berg, then played a long round on AWOL throwing multiple shots on many of the holes.

I threw a solid shot with the FD and a nice putt for a practice birdie.
I wish I could have recorded the flight of this disc… it went right down the first gap, then the second gap. It must have hit that tree, so I may have thrown it a bit too hard? It’s been a while since I had a great throw on this hole and I look forward to many more in the future.
This is the fairway for hole 13, which is a very narrow gap all the way through the fairway.
The last time I was at this course someone threw this right hand line, so I decided to give it a try…
…and I ended up here.
I still struggle with hole 15 and this is the 5th attempt to get a disc close to the basket. I may have to just go with this type of throw for now.
I threw my first disc, which ended up left. I decided to try my new Zone as well and landed just short of the basket. I am looking forward to more consistency like this in future rounds.

Overall the practice day was very productive. I figure out more discs to throw on the AWOL course and have a few more holes to figure out. I am really liking my new K3 Berg. The K3 plastic is easy to grip and may make the disc a little shallower, which I normally prefer.

  1. So much for the snow! Looks like you got some good/great shots in today’s practice! Glad you were finally able to track down a Berg, it looks like it’s going to be a permanent addition to the bag!
